Product Review: NEW CoverGirl “Flamed Out” Mascara

Greetings lovelies,

Happy Belated Mothers’ Day to all of you (women)! And I say all of you, because I included everyone with the potential to become mothers one day, as well. :)

I wanted to take this time to do a quick review of a new mascara.

CoverGirl recently released their new “Flamed Out” mascara, and since I’ve had it for a few days, I wanted to give you my thoughts on it.

Product Review: L’Oreal HIP Bright Shadow Duo in Showy

Hello lovelies!

Recently, I went to ULTA and raided the clearance section (this was not planned). I was speaking to one of the store managers about what products are available for under $5. She led me to the L’Oreal HIP shadows.

I’ve never owned any of L’Oreal’s eye shadows, outside of the Infallibles, so this was a new one for me. When I went to look at the options, there were quite a few to choose from. I’m not sure as to why all of the HIP shadows were on clearance, but awesome for me!

After about 15 minutes of deliberation, I decided to go with Showy.

New Product: MAC’s RiRi Woo

Hey Lovelies!

Last week, on May 2nd, MAC Cosmetics released a limited edition lipstick, created by singer Rihanna, called RiRi Woo. It is a cool, matte red with a “retro matte” finish.

Now while it IS almost identical to MAC’s well known & well loved Ruby Woo; Rihanna’s RiRi Woo is different, but only slightly.

I personally purchased it because I am obsessed with red lips and feel you can NEVER have enough red lipstick.

My order arrived in the mail today and I CANNOT wait to wear this bad boy.

Word on the street is, if you missed this launch, it will re-launch next month (June) with prettier packaging. And yes, I will be purchasing that one too.

RiRi Woo was $15 at MACCosmetics.com.

See you later! Stay lovely,
Christina Marie

Fashion Review: 2013 Met Gala | Who Took the Greatest Risk?

Lovelies,

I have been obsessing over these Met Gala photos all morning. I am fascinated with how dolled up everyone gets for a “party with no purpose”. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure there’s business talk and networking happening (maybe), but when I say “no purpose”, I’m saying that it’s not like an awards show where the purpose is to acknowledge distinguished actors/actresses/director/etc. with awards.

Back to the fashion.

After looking through all of the photos, I started to categorize in my head who I thought took the most risk with their fashion choice. I will not be choosing any of the people who I selected in my Best & Worst Dressed post, mainly because there are others that I feel fit the bill a bit more than those I really loved or didn’t love.

I didn’t love these celebrities’ outfits (nor did I hate them), I am just acknowledging that they really did push the envelope. At least by my standards.

Fashion Review: 2013 Met Ball

Lovelies!!!

It’s time for some FASHION! It’s been a little dry in the fashion events/award shows world, so I am super stoked that the 2013 Met Ball happened last night!

The Met Gala (Ball) is honestly a BIG formal dance/gathering for actors, actresses, models, singers, dancers, designers — EVERY CELEBRITY TYPE KNOWN TO MAN! Whew… It’s basically an opportunity for celebrities to show one another up in their big extravagant outfits, gowns, or even “costumes” (depending on the theme).

The gala is held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. Each year the gala has a theme, like I mentioned, just as a prom or homecoming dance would.

This year’s theme? PUNK.

Interesting… Let’s see what our celebrity obsessions came up with.

Ladies & gents, I present to you my best & worst dressed of the 2013 Met Gala (Ball).

New Product: L’Oreal Infallible Shadows – Spring/Summer 2013

Hey lovelies!

Spring is FINALLY in the air (out here in the Midwest, at least) and the flowers are blooming!

I am a happy, happy girl.

It snowed 2-3 inches last week at my house, so I was in a bit of a pissy mood for a while. But now, that’s over & done with (fingers crossed).

With the change in seasons & the warmer weather, cosmetics companies are beginning to debut their new seasonal products. We’ve seen a lot of the Spring 2013 collections, but now it’s time to start focusing on the Summer 2013 collections.

While shopping at Walgreens over the weekend, I happened upon some new L’Oreal Infallible shadows in four beautiful summer shades. I was so excited that I couldn’t pass them up. I immediately bought all four. And now I would like to share them with you all!

Product Review: NARS Blush in Lovejoy

Hello lovelies,

Back with a review of a product that is sure to be a staple in my Spring/Summer makeup routine. It is a NARS Blush in the shade ‘Lovejoy‘. I absolutely love this blush and the color is spot on for me when I am aiming for more of a bronzed, glowy cheek as opposed to a pink, plum, or red hue on my cheek.

This blush is described as a “shimmering bronzed rose” (link will take you to Sephora). It retails for $29, which can seem a little pricey, but let me take you on a journey of understanding why you need this product in your life.

New Collection: Kate Young for Target

Hello lovelies!

It’s time to talk about my new obsession — Kate Young. She is a pretty fantastic Hollywood stylist who has clients from Natalie Portman to Michelle Williams. Her resume is regarded quite highly and she is a visionary in her designs. So when I heard that she was working on a line for Target, I knew that I needed to keep my eye out for it.

Kate has an affinity for Old Hollywood feminine pieces, which is why I am so drawn to her. Her style is very chic yet classic. Luxurious yet simple. And her collaboration with Target allows that to be afforded by the everyday consumer. All of the pieces in the line, clothing or accessories, range from $14.99 to $89.99. Under $100. That’s quite a deal, in my opinion.

So when I got a look at her Target line, I took some time to really embrace it, go see it and develop an opinion about it. I wanted to learn a little bit about the collection. I have done that, so let’s go over some of my favorite pieces from the line.

Product Haul: NEW Revlon Haute Tropics Collection – Nail Polish

Hello lovelies,

Just wanted to let you know that you should be spotting, if you haven’t already seen them, new Revlon products in your local drugstores & ULTA soon.

The collection is called “Haute Tropics” and it will consist of 8 new nail polishes. I picked up three of the colors, so I will show you those:

Revlon Haute Tropics Collection

From left to right, the colors are Plunge PoolLagoon Afternoon, and Belize, Please. Of the 8 shades, these are the ones that I know I can’t dupe in my collection.

Revlon Haute Tropics Collection

Plunge Pool is an absolutely gorgeous royal, shimmering blue. I totally get an island feel from this shade and will definitely be sporting this one on my toes when I head out to Los Angeles soon.

Revlon Haute Tropics Collection

Lagoon Afternoon is a beautiful sky blue, turquoise color that for some odd reason, reminds me of the islands (I guess that’s why they call it “haute tropics”).

Revlon Haute Tropics Collection

And finally, Belize, Please is a wonderful pink. A bright blue-based pink that has a hint of purple/blue shimmer when held up to the light. It is VERY subtle.

Overall, I like my selection. Like I mentioned there are a total of 8 shades (see photo below). Which ones will you be getting?

Until next time. Stay lovely,
Christina Marie
